So lets start this Make-Up at school series with the biggest "don't" in my opinion you can do at school with your friends. DO NOT share your make up with anyone. I understand the allure of sharing makeup with your friends, your best friend bought that new high-end mascara that everyone has been raving about and naturally you want to try it out. Don't. When you are sharing make up, you are sharing bacteria and germs. Bacteria that may be harmless to your friend but could have completely different affects on you!
If for some reason you do have to share something with a friend, sister, mom make sure it is not a Mascara, Foundation or Concealer. Those three products are the easiest to get bacterial infections from.
You can easily procure an eye infection from sharing a mascara with a friend, the living bacteria around your eyes are usually not to harmful. However when those bacteria have the chance to grow and cultivate in your mascara tube you are taking a big chance, one that isn't worth the trip to the doctors office and the shame of walking around with a somewhat gross looking eye!
Foundation and concealer easily cultivate bacteria as well because of their creamy consistency, using tainted (bacteria infected) foundations and concealers can lead to rashes, irritation, redness and bumps, or acne! No teenage girl wants more than that pesky occasional pimple, why risk it by sharing your foundation? Also when applying your foundation or concealer you really should use a brush, sponge, or scoop to remove the product from the bottle or pan. Then you can go on to apply it with your fingers or a brush.
So save yourself the risk of getting an eye infection or new bout of acne, if you want to try out a product one of your friends have its much better to take a trip to your local Sephora, Ulta, or Department Stores; go up to the beauty counters and try away! Knowing their products are all kept as clean as possible, with disposable mascara wands, and sanitary sponges and brushes.
Stay Safe
