Brunette Beauty Inspiration - Jessica Lowndes

When I first looked up into the mirror at the Ulta salon still in shock at just how dark my hair was I started freaking out. I'm never going to pull off this hairstyle, I mean my skin and eyes are so light how can I realistically make black hair work?? Then it hit me, Jessica Lowndes. I have been envious of this dark haired 90210 beauty since the show first aired! Jessica (Adriana) has such an effortless looking beauty, dark hair, pale skin and eyes and a simple fresh faced make up look.

Edie Sedgwick and Andy Warhol. Need I say more? I'm not sure I even completely understand my obsession with the relationship between the artist and his "superstar." The mixing of ironic art that challenge and compelled the people of the United States and a rich socialite/starlet who came from a somewhat broken home and only desired to be loved is the basis of it all.

Edie was undoubtly one of America's true beauties, one of Vogue's original "It Girl's," and the "Queen of underground cinema."

I've recently purchased the biography "Edie: An American Biography" off of amazon, my European history teacher had recommended it to me. I'm absolutely loving it and would definitely recommend it!

So last night I spent the evening in bed with the HBO documentary "Love, Marilyn" which is an documentary that looks at journals, letters, and writings of Marilyn Monroe that were found fifty years post mordem. She really was such a complex, beautiful, intellectual woman in touch with her emotions and dedicated to improving her craft! If you have the time I really would recommend watching "Love, Marilyn."
